Terms of Service
Last updated: August 4, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Easy Product Badge & Watermark Shopify app (“App”), provided by Digit Grove (“we,” “our,” “us”). By installing or using the App, you (“Merchant,” “you”) agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.
Quick Summary
- The App edits your product images only when you tell it to.
- By default it is non-destructive — your original image is kept and can be restored.
- One optional setting permanently deletes originals. It is off by default.
- Please keep your own backups before running anything destructive.
- Billing is handled by Shopify, not by us directly.
1. The Service
The App adds badges, labels and watermarks to product images in your Shopify store, either by compositing them into the image file (“burn”) or by displaying them over the image on your online store (“storefront overlay”). It also provides bulk actions, time-boxed campaigns and automated rules. Features available to you depend on your subscription plan.
2. Your Shopify Store and Account
You must have a Shopify store and the authority to install apps and modify products in it. You are responsible for the actions of any staff account that uses the App on your behalf. You grant us the permissions requested at install (currently the ability to read and write products) solely to provide the App.
3. Plans, Billing and Cancellation
Paid plans are sold and billed through Shopify Managed Pricing. Charges appear on your Shopify invoice, and upgrades, downgrades, cancellations and refunds are governed by Shopify’s billing terms and processes. Uninstalling the App cancels the recurring charge going forward. Prices and plan features may change; we will give reasonable notice of material changes.
4. Your Content and Product Images
Your product images and store content remain yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to read those images, generate a modified version, and write it back to your store at your instruction. We do not keep copies of your product images on our servers, and we do not use your images to train models or for any purpose other than operating the App.
You are responsible for having the rights to any image, logo or badge artwork you upload or apply, and for ensuring the result complies with applicable law and with the rules of any channel you publish to. Some sales channels restrict promotional overlays on product images; checking those rules is your responsibility.
5. Image Modification and Destructive Actions
The App modifies images only when you instruct it to — by running an action, activating a rule, or scheduling a campaign. You choose what runs, when, and on which products.
By default the App is non-destructive. The badged image is added and your original is kept alongside it, so it can be brought back using Pause & restore or Restore Original Images.
The “Replace the original image” option permanently deletes your original photo once the badged version is published. It is off by default and must be enabled deliberately, including typing a confirmation word. When you enable it:
- The deletion happens in your Shopify store and is permanent.
- We cannot recover deleted images, because we hold no copies of them.
- The App’s restore features cannot bring those images back.
You are responsible for keeping your own backup copies of your original product images before running any destructive action, and we strongly recommend testing on a small number of products first.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the App to:
- infringe anyone’s intellectual property or publicity rights;
- create misleading claims (for example, a “sale” badge where no discount exists);
- attempt to bypass plan limits, or to probe, overload or disrupt the App or Shopify’s systems;
- resell or redistribute the App or its badge library as your own product.
7. Availability and Support
We aim to keep the App available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The App depends on Shopify’s APIs and on third-party hosting; outages, rate limits or changes on those platforms may affect it. Support is provided by email at support@digitgrove.com.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Digit Grove will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of the App.
In particular, we are not liable for loss of images or content resulting from actions you or your staff initiate in the App — including image deletion carried out by the “Replace the original image” option or any other feature, and including cases where a backup was not kept.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid us for the App in the three (3) months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Digit Grove from claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the App, your breach of these Terms, or your lack of rights in content you upload or apply through the App.
11. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin. We may suspend or terminate access if the App is used in breach of these Terms or in a way that risks harm to other merchants, to Shopify, or to us. On uninstall we revoke access and remove tokens and sessions as described in our Privacy Policy. Images already written to your store remain in your store and are unaffected by uninstalling.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory local law in your country gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
